LINDA
Linda qualified with a diploma in general nursing at the Johannesburg Hospital in 1987 and a Diploma in ICU nursing in 1990.
She worked in Trauma ICU at the JHB Hospital from 1990-1993 where she was appointed the Unit Manager before leaving a year later to nurse in the private sector.
At Milpark Hospital Linda gained extensive experience in Trauma ICU, anaesthetic theatre and Neuro ICU.
Needing straight working hours to support her young son Linda moved into Medical Sales and gained experience in corporate, travelling extensively through the NW, Mpumalanga and Gauteng.
After missing the excitement of hands-on nursing Linda did a short stint in Psychiatric Nursing at Tara Moross Centre in Johannesburg before returning to run the Emergency Depts in Flora Clinic and later Linksfield Park.
In 2009 the lure of a more lucrative salary took Linda into Clinical Research for a number of years.
In 2012 she travelled to India where she trained as a Yoga Teacher. In 2014 she returned to India to study Yoga Therapy, an avenue of Yoga designed to treat illnesses through yoga techniques, diet and lifestyle change.
Linda then moved to the Lowveld to establish her own Healing Centre. During the 8 years that she has lived in Hazyview Linda became a founding member, and Vice President of the South African Chapter of IntSNA, a society for nurses on addiction. She currently serves as a volunteer at the White River Hospice and holds a certificate in End Of Lifecare.
She is a member of the Society for Private Nurse Practitioners and is registered with the Board of Health Care Funders as a private nurse practitioner
Having her friend and colleague Sue Hamilton join her in Hazyview earlier this year is all the motivation that she needs to see her vision of The Healing Hill become a reality!
